THE HAGUE--The Dutch Parliament will have one final debate on the constitutional restructuring of the Netherlands Antilles before the final Round Table Conference (RTC) on September 9.
Kingdom Charter change for public meeting of parliament

The changes to the Kingdom Charter to include new countries St. Maarten and Curaçao and other minor adjustments were handled and approved by the Central Committee of Parliament on Thursday. The changes will now be dealt with in a public meeting of parliament.
"Caribbean guilder" not ready by 10-10-10

Curaçao's General Affairs Commissioner Zita Jesus-Leito (PAR) has confirmed that the Caribbean Guilder, which is to become the currency of the new countries Curaçao and St. Maarten, will not be in circulation until six to nine months from now.
Upper Chamber approves National Laws

THE HAGUE — The Upper Chamber unanimously approved the National Laws today that were necessary for the new status of the Antilles per October 10th 2010, including the National Law for the Amendment of the Statute and the National Law that enables the Order of National Council (AMvRB). The SP was the only party who had objected the law for financial supervision.

THE HAGUE--The General Measures of Kingdom Government (Algemene Maatregelen van Rijksbestuur AMvRB) to regulate the tasks that Countries Curaçao and St. Maarten cannot execute on their own are not a form of higher supervision, the Dutch Government has stressed.
Financial supervision only reinstated as a last resort

THE HAGUE--The financial supervision imposed on Curaçao and St. Maarten is temporary and will only be reintroduced when the proper governance of the future countries is at stake, the Dutch Government confirmed in a document to the First Chamber on Monday.

The Dutch First Chamber is seriously considering postponing the handling of the Kingdom Consensus Laws to mid-September, thereby endangering the target date of October 10 for the dismantling of the Netherlands Antilles.

Duncan said it was about time the Statute of the Kingdom was revised.
