Goedgedrag to stay as Governor of Curaçao

Curaçao newspaper La Prensa has reported that the current Antillean Governor Frits Goedgedrag will also become the first Governor of Country Curaçao on 10-10-10.
The daily says it has confirmation from sources in both in the Central and Island Governments. The Executive Council will make the relevant proposal to the Council of Ministers, which will then ratify it and submit the nomination to the Kingdom Government.
The governing PAR/PNP/FOL coalition believed that, with all the work remaining for the constitutional changes to be completed, it would be prudent to maintain Goedgedrag, who has done a good job, according to the coalition, while a public discussion on other possible candidates was not considered opportune at this time.
The paper also says that there is no known candidate yet to become the first Governor of Country St. Maarten.
