Antillean Governor Frits Goedgedrag has annulled the Island Ordinance to adapt the pension regulation for members of Curaçao's Island Council, because it goes against the general interest of the Dutch Kingdom in particular.

Members of the IBA, the OECD, the United Nations and prominent white collar crime lawyers urged the legal profession to take a more proactive role in the fight against corruption yesterday, as a survey revealed an 'amazingly low' level of awareness of anticorruption legislation among the world's lawyers, while almost 80 per cent of Latin American lawyers say they consider corruption to be an issue in the legal profession.

The General Audit Chamber of the Netherlands Antilles did not approve the 2006 and 2007 annual accounts of the country. According to the chamber, a lot is wrong with the annual accounts on the relevant years.

THE HAGUE--The so-called penshonado-arrangement in Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba will be eliminated in four years instead of five years, announced Dutch caretaker Minister of Finance Jan Kees de Jager today.
No tax exemptions for BES islands businesses

THE HAGUE--Companies located in the special economic zones in Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba will pay all regular taxes. They won't enjoy any special tax benefits when the new fiscal regime goes into effect on the islands per January 1, 2011.

Pas geleden heb ik tijdens een zitting in een civiele zaak gepleit dat mijn wederpartij niet-ontvankelijk was. Mijn betoog luidde dat deze geen civiele vordering had moeten instellen, maar bij de bestuursrechter had moeten zijn.
