KRALENDIJK — Michiel Bijkerk van de Partido Pro Hustisia & Union, PHU roept ambtenaren van het eiland en van de Rijksdienst Caribisch NederlandRCN om documenten, ook de geheime documenten openbaar te maken in de strijd tegen corruptie op het eiland. De politicus waarschuwt ambtenaren wel om anoniem te lekken in het belang van een transparante democratie. Je kan je baan er namelijk mee verliezen.
Taxichauffeurs slepen luchthavenautoriteit voor rechter

ORANJESTAD - Meer dan de helft van de taxichauffeurs, vertegenwoordigd door vakbond STA, wil geen onderhoudsvergoeding aan de luchthaven betalen. Om ervoor te zorgen dat luchthavenautoriteit AAA deze vergoeding niet kan afdwingen, stapt de vakbond binnenkort naar de rechter voor een kort geding, aldus vakbondleider Diego de Cuba.

WILLEMSTAD - De regering van Curaçao legt zich niet neer bij het besluit van Den Haag om het advies van het College Financieel Toezicht op te volgen en het eiland te dwingen de begroting volgens de normen sluitend te maken. Door mr Mirto F. Murray - Met enige regelmaat vallen in de brievenbus tijdschriften die te maken hebben met onroerend goed. Steevast zijn die tijdschriften gevuld met advertenties waarin onroerend goed makelaars woningen te koop of te huur aanbieden. In 2001 werd wetgeving geïntroduceerd in het Burgerlijk Wetboek [BW] die de verschuldigdheid van de vergoeding van de makelaar regelt.

Door mr Mirto F. Murray - Eerder schreef ik in ‘Twee Curaçaose Meesters’ over ‘Blackberryitis’, de door mij bedachte benaming voor het ziektebeeld waarbij de beide duimspieren het chronisch laten afweten door een overmatig gebruik van een Blackberry (telefoon) of elke andere smartphone of ie nou door Apple of Samsung gefabriceerd is.

ORANJESTAD — Esther Baars wordt per 1 augustus advocaat-generaal bij het Openbaar Ministerie (OM). Haar benoeming is recentelijk goedgekeurd door de ministerraad. Zij vervangt Taco Stein die in maart naar St. Maarten vertrok. Deze week is bovendien de nieuwe officier van justitie, Iduna Streefland-Brink, beëdigd.
