DCLP Top 10 Law Firms Curaçao 2016

WILLEMSTAD - The newly released DCLP Top 10 Law Firms Curaçao 2016 shows a few remarkable  trends. First of all, there is a new top 3. Although the number of lawyers of VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne decreased, with 22 lawyers the firm remains the largest on Curaçao. They are followed by HBN Law, with 16 lawyers.
 
Spigt Dutch Caribbean lost their ranking as number 3 to Soliana, Bonapart & Aardenburg and anow shares the fourth place with SMS Attorneys at Law.
 
Although the number of lawyers of most larger firms decreased or remained steady, the total number of lawyers that are based at law firms in Curaçao however, grew from approximately 185 to more than 200 lawyers. Accountable for this increase are the smaller firms, of which the majority added at least one new lawyer to their teams.
 
Furthermore, a new firm has entered this year’s top 10: OX & WOLF, founded in September 2015. Carine Jänsch of OX & WOLF comments on their entry: “We are proud to be among the top law firms in the Dutch Caribbean. DCLP annually composes law firm rankings for the Dutch Caribbean jurisdictions and for Suriname, based on the number of lawyers of the firms (excluding tax advisors, notaries and paralegals). As three firms in Curaçao have four lawyers, the top 10 for Curaçao actually comprises twelve law firms with four firms sharing fifth place and three firms sharing sixth place.
 
Approximately 400 lawyers are officially registered at the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao and St. Maarten and Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. Of these lawyers, approximately 200 (50%) are based at law firms in Curaçao.

Lawyer Roeland Zwanikken considers legal action against ABN AMRO Bank
