DCLP Top 10 Law Firms Sint Maarten 2016

PHILIPSBURG - The just released DCLP Top 10 Law Firms St. Maarten 2016 shows that, with eleven lawyers, BZSE Attorneys & Tax Lawyers remains the largest law firm on (the Dutch side of) St. Maarten.

Since its establishment in 2009 this firm has developed a strong footprint in the legal society of St. Maarten. In 2014 BZSE opened a Curaçao office as well, with two attorneys.

The largest firms in the Dutch Caribbean, VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne and HBN Law, also have a significant presence in St. Maarten with five and six attorneys. Compared to last year, numbers two in the list HBN Law and Lexwell both saw a decrease in their legal staff.

DCLP annually composes law firm rankings for the Dutch Caribbean jurisdictions and for Suriname, based on the number of lawyers of the firms (excluding tax advisors, notaries and paralegals).

Approximately 400 lawyers are officially registered at the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao and St. Maarten and Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. Of these lawyers, approximately 65 (17%) are based at law firms on St. Maarten.

 * Law firm Soliana Bonapart & Aardenburg is also represented on St. Maarten as Bloem Bonapart & Aardenburg. Because there is only one lawyer based in St. Maarten for this firm, Jairo Bloem, it is not mentioned in this top 10.
