Top 10 law firms Aruba shows stability
 
The top 10 largest law firms in Aruba, without exception, show either stability or growth compared to last year. This can be concluded from the Top 10 Law Firms Aruba, which is published annually by legal website Dutch Caribbean Legal Portal (www.dutchcaribbeanlegalportal.com) and of which the 2013 edition has now been released.
 
Number one in Aruba is again David Kock & Wix with eight lawyers.
HBN Law, with a total of 31 lawyers in the Dutch Caribbean, has climbed up to the second position as it has almost doubled its number of lawyers in Aruba compared to last year.
Gomez & Bikker remains stable at the third position with an additional two lawyers compared to 2012, resulting in a total of six lawyers.
The largest Dutch Caribbean law firm, VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne with a total of 35 lawyers, has a presence of three lawyers on the island just as it did last year.
 
Two new firms enter the top 10: James Martin & Associates and Faarup Figaroa Law Offices.
Gabri de Hoogd of James Matin & Associates comments on their new entry: “We are very pleased with this. We are a dynamic firm that provides legal assistance in a broad range of practice areas in the Dutch Caribbean, and also in the Netherlands”.
 
 
Approximately 350 lawyers are officially registered at the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and of Bonaire, Saint Eustatius and Saba. Of these lawyers, about 100 are working at law firms on Aruba (ca. 30%). These 100 lawyers are working at circa 45 law firms.
