Murray starts new law firm

WILEMSTAD - Well-known Curacao attorney Mirto Murray has started a new firm per 1 September under the name Murray Attorneys at Law.

 

Other attorneys in the firm are Roangelo Lodewijks, Sucena Hortencia, Didi Wildeman, Sabine Anthonio, Melissa Vasquez (all from SMS Attorneys at Law)  The firm specialises in corporate and commercial law, banking and finance law, labor law, criminal law but also in the relative new area of entertainment and media law.

Mirto Murray studied Dutch Law (University of Amsterdam) and started practicing law as an attorney at law in 1996 in the (former) Netherlands Antilles. He says he differentiates himself from others by creative thinking ‘outside of the box’ within the legal boundaries.

At the age of 33 he became the youngest ever President of the Bar Association in Curaçao, a position he held from 2001 to 2005.

In September 2002 Mirto started law firm Small Murray Scheper, together with co-founders Andre Small and Gerrit Scheper, that later operated under the name SMS Attorneys at Law.
 
Together with friend and colleague K. Frielink Mirto published ‘Twee Curacaose Meesters’. Mirto regularly publishes legal articles and legal notes in several Law Journals and magazines.
