Tuitt resigns, Halman now acting chairman

PHILIPSBURG--Chairman of the General Audit Chamber Roland Tuitt, submitted his resignation to the Board of the General Audit Chamber in a letter dated May 20, a day ahead of his swearing-in as Fiance Minister in the National Alliance (NA)-led coalition.
Ronald Halman will serve as acting chairman of the Audit Chamber. The remaining members of the board will continue to serve until the completion of their terms later this year.
As per the National Ordinance on the General Audit Chamber and the Constitution, the function of member of the board of the Audit Chamber and Minister of Finance are incompatible.
Tuitt was the chairman of the General Audit Chamber from the start of the institution in 2010. His term, along with the other members, was for two years.
