KRALENDIJK — Richard Hart, former Lieutenant Governor and currently chairman of the board of Bonaire Holding Company (BHM), will succeed Jaime Saleh, who resigned as chairman of the Institution Development Netherlands Antilles (Sona).
During a recent visit from the Implementation Organ Development Netherlands Antilles (Usona) to Bonaire, the Board of Governors was informed on the change in the board composition of the organization. The progress of the projects on Bonaire was also discussed during Usona’s visit. Every year, The Netherlands make an amount available for projects that fit within the four regular programs: Institutional Fortification and Management Strength (IVB), Education and Youngsters, Plan Safety Netherlands Antilles 2 and the Social Economic Initiative. That money is deposited into a fund managed by Sona. Usona commands the implementation of the programs. On Bonaire, Usona is also responsible for the implementation of the sewerage project, the Bonaire Sewerage and Sanitation System, a project that is financed by the European Union.
The Board of Governors thanked departing chairman Saleh for all the work that had been done for Bonaire, and welcomed Richard Hart, as new chairman.
