Big turnout manifestation for elections Curacao

WILLEMSTAD – “Do not touch our democracy. Do not touch the Supreme Electoral Council. Do not touch the honest civil servants at the Registrar’s Office!”
 
That was the message yesterday from the union leader Roland Ignacio to the Minister of Government Services Norberto Ribeiro at the peaceful manifestation against the government in the neighborhood of Wishi / Marchena.
 
There was a good turnout with people from all walks of life. People from humble backgrounds to professionals and financially well off, they all heeded the call to protest against the decision made by the government to postpone the elections.
 
The atmosphere was jovial. Several participants took the opportunity to voice their opinion and their frustration against the new interim government. The message was clear, the people want elections to take place on April 28.
