WILLEMSTAD - Law firm VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne is starting a support program for startups, with free legal advice ivia monthly walk-in office hours: Legal Spot.

For this purpose, the firm has agreed on a cooperation with Workspot Curaçao.

Workspot provides freelancers and starting entrepreneurs with a dynamic, inspiring, and affordable workplace. In these office locations, startups can look for cooperation and learn from each other.

All entrepreneurs affiliated with Workspot Curaçao will get a chance to submit their legal questions to a lawyer of VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne once a month. An appointment can be made for a consultation or one can simply walk in. After a trial period, VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne will determine whether this service will be expanded, for instance with a legal starters package.

Focco Lunsingh Scheurleer, managing partner of VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne, comments: “As the largest law firm in the Dutch Caribbean, we think it’s important to contribute to the communities of the islands on which we operate. We stimulate starting entrepreneurs with innovative ideas, as this can be beneficial for the region as well. We ourselves learn from this cooperation as well, as clients increasingly ask for different ways of cooperation between their organizations and law firms. Legal Spot also provides us with a platform to gain insight in that.”

The first walk-in office hours have been planned on 19 October 2016, at Workspot Curaçao at Bitterstraat in Scharloo. The core team that will staff these office hours consists of associate Stan van Liere and junior associate Raoul Profijt.

An appointment can be made for a walk-in consultation but one can also walk in at Bitterstraat. More information can be found on www.ekvandoorne.com and on the Facebook pages of VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne and of Workspot Curaçao.
