PHILIPSBURG--C.C.H. (51), the principal of one of the primary schools in Betty’s Estate, will hear today, Wednesday, what the charges will be in a so-called “pro forma” handling of the case against him.

 

H. was arrested on December 4, in connection with sexual misconduct with a minor. The Daily Herald understands that three other minors have come forward and accused the principal of similar acts. This makes four minors who have come forward against the accused.

 

Pro forma means that the case is not ready to be handled as yet. The Prosecutor’s Office needs more time to conclude its investigation and has requested this from the judge; until the judge approves this request the suspect will remain in pre-trail detention.

 

The Prosecutor’s Office, via its Press Spokesman Gino Bernadina, said H. is suspected of inappropriate involvement with several minors; at this moment, H. is suspected of violating four articles of the penal code. According to a joint press statement from the Police and Prosecutor, the arrest is as a result of the investigation in which, on September 18, a house search was carried out by the Judge of Instruction, the Prosecutor and investigating police officers. Numerous electronic devices were confiscated for further investigation. The suspect was questioned and released the same day.

“During an in-depth investigation of the confiscated items new evidence of sexual misconduct has risen, leaving the Prosecutor no other option than to arrest the suspect,” according to the statement at the time.
