St. Maarten police Officer Boasman remains in critical condition

PHILIPSBURG - Alexander Boasman continues to fight for his life after a horrific traffic accident on Thursday morning. Doctors have informed the family that one of his longs has collapsed but he is responding to medicine given to him.
 
He has been moved to Intensive Care Unit and family were given a few minutes to see him on Thursday afternoon.
 
Police Officer Alexander Boasman was driving his scooter last week heading towards Philipsburg when he slammed into a Jeep Wrangler that veered off to the right and made a U-turn in front of him, one of his legs was broken during the incident.  
 
Boasman remains in a coma at the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) and will be flown off island for further treatment late on Friday. Police Spokesman Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said they are hoping for the best and will give an update about his condition as soon as it becomes available.
 
The young lady who was driving the jeep is also in the hospital, but no update had been given on her condition as yet.
 
Acting Minister of Justice Richard Gibson and Cabinet Chef Ruben Thompson and a number of police officers were at SMMC hoping for their colleague to pull through this ordeal.
