CANTO's mission is to shape the future of the Information and Telecommunications sector as well as to facilitate the development of ICT solutions in the Caribbean region.

Director of BTP-SXM, Mr. Anthony Carty stated: "it is of great importance that Sint Maarten work towards the implementation of a sound E-Waste program.
As the regulatory authority of the Telecom industry we will take the initiative to provide initial support to Telecom Providers and Government to find ways to soundly manage mobile phone disposal in Sint Maarten.
We support the mission and vision of CANTO and are committed to work diligently with the regional CSR-team in creating awareness for the E-waste problem".
The CANTO 31st annual AGM was well attended.
The meetings were deemed productive and BTP-SXM will continue to support local and regional CSR initiatives and look forward to work together with institutions that are embracing continuous improvement of internet development.
