Buncamper-Molanus talks to the financial sector of Curacao

Commissioner of Economic Affairs of St. Maarten, Maria Buncamper-Molanus, visited Curacao this week, where together with a team of advisors, she looked at the financial services sector. The delegation had a meeting with among others the director of Curaçao International Financial Services Association (Cifa), Lionel Anthony, who is also associated with LAconsult.
The association promotes businesses in the financial service sector for Curacao. They spoke about the possibilities for St. Maarten to start offering additional financial services.
Buncamper-Molanus also visited the Intellectual Property Office. St. Maarten will have to set up a similar office in the trajectory to the future status of the counrty within the Kingdom.
The delegation consisted of director of Economic Affairs Miguel de Weever, fiscal jurist Mercedes James of Finance, head of the bureau for Political Affairs Jeannette Hagen , and Veronica Jansen-Webster, the commissioner’s assistant.
