Judgment Churandy deferred

Judgment in the matter that the Antillean sprinter Churandy Martina had instituted with the International Sports Court of Justice in Lausanne, has again been postponed. The Court of Justice will now render judgement on 13 March. Director Remco Tevreden of the Netherlands Antillean Olympic Committee (Naoc) couldn't say what the exact reason for this new postponement was.
Churandy Martina initially won the silver medal on the 200-meter in Peking in August of last year and was later disqualified after a protest of the American sport delegation, because he stepped outside the lane with his foot. The Naoc lodged a protest against that sanction, because according to the valid rules of the international athletic federation, the Americans had allegedly submitted their protest too late. The Naoc is therefore of the opinion that the organization in Peking should not have honoured the American protest.
