Schotte heard in Babel case again

WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao's opposition leader Gerrit Schotte (MFK) was recently heard once more in the "Babel" investigation into his alleged involvement in forgery and money-laundering.
 
Schotte was not happy with the approach of the Prosecutor's Office in Willemstad. "They first tried to question me via telephone, to which I of course objected. I was also told it would be the final interrogation, but now it turned out that I have to be heard later again," the parliamentarian stated.
A prosecutor recently revealed that January 16 has been reserved for the preparatory session of the Babel case. She apparently made a slip of the tongue during an arms possession case against two others.
 
Schotte said he had so far not received any summons. His lawyers filed a request to get in writing what exactly he is suspected of, but as yet there is no clarity.
 
"It wouldn't surprise me if I only get that summons on January 15." Neither the politician nor his attorney, Eldon "Peppi" Sulvaran, is officially aware of the case going to trial in January and what specific unlawful actions led to the charges
