The College financial supervision (Cft) will meet for the first time in a complete composition in the beginning of February. One member for Curacao, register accountant Ivan de Windt, and one for St. Maarten, Roland Tuitt was appointed last week. The Cft is now complete with these two members.
With the publication of the Order in Council for the Kingdom (AMvRB) Financial Supervision BES in the Law Gazette in November of 2007, the College financial supervision became reality. Hans Weitenberg, who was member of the committee that prepared the status aparte for Aruba in the seventies, is chairman of the Cft. Former state secretary Margo Vliegenthart is member of Cft for the Netherlands; Alberto ‘Chos’ Romero, director at the Bank of the Netherlands Antilles, for the Land Netherlands Antilles; and former lt. governor Max Pandt for the BES-islands. A secretariat that holds office in Curacao assists the College with his work. The AMvRB temporary financial supervision Neth.Antilles, Curacao, and St. Maarten was published in the Law Gazette in November of 2008.
