WILLEMSTAD – Minister of Infrastructure Charles Cooper (MAN) and Anthony de Lima of data center project Curaçao Technology Center (Ctex) pushed the spade in the ground in Mahuma this morning for the first stone of the complex to be laid.
The local contractor “Dusron Bouwbedrijf” has become the principal contractor of the construction project, which is expected to be completed in early 2013. The data center in Mahuma will be realized in cooperation with the international partners Schneider Electric and Cisco, but also with local engineers and design companies.
A super-modern energy-efficient facility is developed that will provide secured data center services on a large scale to enterprises, institutions, and companies in the entire Caribbean and the northern part of Latin America. Ctex has already begun making reservations for its customers and will be operational in the first half of 2013.
