Charges brought against Debrot

Charges were pressed with the Public Prosecutor against former trader and advisor for international bunker activities at Curoil, Jason Debrot. The Board of Directors (RvC) wants to recoup losses for the damage that Debrot had supposedly caused the Curoil with his trading activities.

Stepping to the OM indicates that the RvC assumes that Debrot has committed punishable offences. Director Gensley Capella of Curoil said earlier that Debrot and his colleague Robert Maldonado ‘have violated internal guidelines that no employee or close family member of Curoil is allowed to do business with Curoil’. Debrot indicated yesterday via his lawyer Gelmer Pieter that ‘he is not guilty’ of trading with RCM. His resignation must therefore not be considered as an admission of guilt. He did it to shelter himself from all the criticism in the ‘Curoil Gate’.
