Minister Constancia files report of slander

Minister of Public Health, Jacinta Constancia filed a report of slander against Radio Direct and Vigilante.

Both media reported yesterday that ‘a female minister apparently had been beaten up by her friend’.

Constancia denies categorically what was published. Although her name is not mentioned, it’s obvious it regards her because she is the only female minister of the current cabinet. She truly regrets one had not phoned to hear her side of the story or to verify the information, but simply published or broadcasted the story.

The Minister personally visited Radio Direct to speak with director Jachmin Pinedo. “Barely two months ago, she approached the Public Prosecutor because one had injured her mother’s reputation with incorrect information and now she’s doing the same to me.”

Although several media have been injuring her reputation for some time, Constancia will no longer accept this. She states that as minister, she has to take popular but also unpopular measures for the general interest, but that’s no reason to injure her reputation with lies.

“I come from a humble family, where we learned to respect each other and others. My private life is my responsibility and God is the One you knows me best.”
