Augustin ‘Tinchi’ Diaz, the former general manager of KTK Panama instituted summary proceedings against Curaçao Port Authorities (CPA) and Kompania di Tou Kòrsou (KTK) because they have still not paid him the redundancy scheme as mutually agreed on March 1st.
The scheme regards seven months salary with a total gross amount of 79,000 guilders. The amount could not be paid because KTK had placed an attachment on the amount to be paid by CPA. Quality coordinator (MRQ) Getmar Caldera of Curaçao Port Authorities explains CPA’s viewpoint that Diaz is first to indicate what happened with the two checks cashed in Panama. In the absence of Diaz, who had had signing authority for the branch, two checks worth 32,000 dollars had been cashed in. CPA is of the opinion that Diaz owes the company money despite their earlier announcement that Francisco Oñate, the former office manager in Panama, had admitted to cashing the checks. Oñate had namely forged Diaz’ signature. Judgment is reserved for August 12th.
