WILLEMSTAD/THE HAGUE — With the amendment of several education laws, CDA Lower Chamber member Jack Biskop has suggested an amendment enabling schools such as the Vespucci College, to hold state examinations on Curaçao instead of sending their students to Bonaire to take this exam.
For that purpose, the article in question would have to include that the minister allocates one or more locations outside The Netherlands to take the state exams. “For the taking of the states exam on a location as mentioned in the previous sentence, only those candidates are granted permission who agreed in writing with the legal regulations of the state exams upon registration for the state exam. If the candidate is under age, the legal representative of the candidate must co-sign the written agreement.”
The education laws are amended in connection with the abolishment of the residence term restriction in the secondary education, monitoring the examination quality in the secondary education and the secondary general adult education, as well as the expansion of the state exam possibilities.
A Chamber debate will be held on this subject within short.
