Top 10 law firms Aruba shows stability
ORANJESTAD - The just released DCLP Top 10 Law Firms Aruba 2016 shows that most of the Aruban law firms show stability in growth compared to the previous edition.
 
The largest firm in Aruba is HBN Law with eight lawyers, followed by Brown Lawyers, David Kock Legal, Gomez & Bikker Advocaten and James Martin & Associates, all with five lawyers.
 
The largest firm in the Dutch Caribbean region as a whole, VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne, also has a significant presence in Aruba with three attorneys. 
 
New in the Top 10 is De Cuba Wever Attorneys at Law with three lawyers. Jeannot de Cuba of this firm comments on their new entry: “We are pleased with this entry in the Top 10 Law Firms Aruba, especially since we are a young niche firm. Our ambition is to be the number one local counsel, and we are happy to be able to announce the arrival of a fourth team member next month as a another step towards that goal.” 
 
DCLP annually composes law firm rankings for the Dutch Caribbean jurisdictions and for Suriname, based on the number of lawyers of the firms (excluding tax advisors, notaries and paralegals). As seven firms in Aruba have three lawyers, the top 10 for Aruba actually comprises fifteen law firms with four firms sharing second place, three firms sharing third place and the abovementioned seven firms sharing fourth place.
 
Approximately 400 lawyers are officially registered at the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao and St. Maarten and Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. Of these lawyers, approximately 100 (25%) are based at law firms in Aruba.
