Immigration officer under investigation

PHILIPSBURG--Chief of Police Carl John has called for an internal criminal investigation into a complaint received regarding an officer of the Immigration division recently.
 
Immigration officer D.W. has been suspended indefinitely as a result of the ongoing investigation into the complaint.
 
Police stated on Wednesday that the internal investigation’s outcome will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine whether an independent follow-up investigation by the National Detectives is necessary.
 
The internal investigation is still ongoing at this time, according to police.
