Curacao Coast Guard arrests 50 Venezuelans entering the island illegally

WILLEMSTAD – Early this morning the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard intercepted two go-fasts with approximately 50 Venezuelans who were trying to enter the island illegally.
 
This action took place in the Fuik area, on the south-east side of the island.
 
According to the spokesman of the Coast Guard, Roderick Gouverneur, eighteen of these Venezuelans were already on the island. But they were arrested. The rest of them were still on these go-fast boats. “This is by far the largest number of illegal Venezuelans we have intercepted,” said Gouverneur.
