First murder for 2017 reported in Anguilla

ANGUILLA--The Royal Anguilla Police Force is investigating the shooting in the area of the Yellow Banana store in Stoney Ground that resulted in the death of 24 year old Anderson Carty of North Hill. This is the first murder in Anguilla for 2017.
 
The police responded to a call of shots being fired at about 10.45am on Monday, May 22, and on arrival at the scene the lifeless body of Carty was discovered with several gunshot wounds. Carty was attended to by Emergency Medical technicians and a doctor later pronounced him dead.
 
The police are investigating the incident and are appealing to members of the public who may have been in Stoney Ground in the area of the Yellow Banana and witnessed the shooting incident or have any information regarding the shooting. The Commissioner of Police Paul Morrison and members of the Royal Anguilla Police Force are extending sympathy to the grieved family and friends of the deceased. A family Liaison Officer has been appointed to the family.
