Damen Shipyard takes over Curaçao Dry Dock

WILLEMSTAD - Today Damen Shiprepair & Conversion (DSC) took over the responsibility for the operational activities of the Curaçao Drydock Company (CDM) and with this gave the Dokmaatschappij a new future.
 
This happened during a solemn ceremony in the presence of guests and employees of the CDM.
 
The multi-year partnership between the Curaçao government and Damen gives this private partner a good opportunity to help the CDM, after thirty years, to flourish again.
 
This partnership offers, besides many direct benefits for the CDM, current workers and youth, the chance for Curaçao to tap into new maritime markets in the future such as the repair and conversion of cruise ships and (probably also mega) yachts.
