InselAir: ‘Cease operations to and from Venezuela not an option’

WILLEMSTAD – Recently the local aviation company InselAir has made some adjustments to its flights to and from Venezuela. But according Edward Heerenveen, the month of May was a good month for the airline. “
 
Actually it was one of the best months in the history of the airline, especially on the Venezuelan rout.”
 
Heerenveen made this statement in connection with the news that Lufthansa and LATAM will cease operations on the Venezuelan market. Heerenveen was emphatic on the airline’s position in regards to Venezuela. “We will not stop our operations to and from Venezuela, that’s not an option.”
 
In the past the flights to and from Venezuela covered 36 percent of InselAir’s itinerary, but this has been reduced drastically to 6 percent. This in combination with the use of other types of aircrafts, which, according to Heerenveen, allows for fantastic results.
 
Heerenveen is still hopeful that InselAir will get its 90 million dollars from Venezuela. The airline director said that they are following the same path as in 2013, which had positive results in the sense that the airline received major part of their money.
