DAE Wins Case Against Former Minister Charles Cooper

WILLEMSTAD – The court has ruled in favor of DAE in the proceedings against former Minister of Transport, Traffic and Urban Planning, Charles Cooper. 

The Government of Curacao, more precisely the former Minister Charles Cooper, has been ordered to publish a rectification.
 
Curacao will have to pay a nationwide newspaper in Dutch and a nationwide newspaper in Papiamentu to both carry an advertisement (four columns wide, 15c m high) stating that (in short):
 
“DAE was falsely accused by the Minister of having prices that are too low, since there are no legal minimum tickets prices in Curacao. Moreover, the Minister gave the impression that the planes of DAE were not safe. The Minister had no facts to suggest such an impression”.
 
Curacao will have to pay a fine of Naf. 5.000,00 (with a maximum of Nafl. 100.000,00) if it fails to comply.
