Rosemöller and Maas to look into Central Bank issue

Former Green Left leader Paul Rosemöller is on the independent committee that is to investigate the problems between the Schotte cabinet and joint Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten President-Director Emsley Tromp.
Dutch Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations Piet Hein Donner informed the Dutch Parliament's Second Chamber of such in writing. The other committee member is former ING director Cees Maas.
The two-man committee will look into the allegations back and forth between Tromp and three MFK ministers. However, the intention is not for the Kingdom Council to investigate the integrity of the Curaçao Government and the functioning of the Central Bank, Donner had stated earlier.
Instead, it will analyse what took place and make recommendations to restore the integrity of the institutions involved and achieve good governance on the island. One of those recommendations can be for a more thorough investigation, the Dutch minister had added.
Rosemöller was in the Second Chamber from 1989 to 2003 and headed its Permanent Committee for Antillean and Aruban Affairs. He also was involved in preparing the constitutional changes that took effect on 10-10-10.
In addition to his term as ING director, Maas gained much knowledge of the Dutch Caribbean as a high-ranking official of the Ministry of Finance in The Hague.
