Spies warns Curaçao: We will use guarantee function

THE HAGUE--The Kingdom Council of Ministers will be left no choice to deploy the guarantee function if the Curaçao Government does not execute the instruction that it got in The Hague last Friday to get its 2012 budget in order.

De laatste ministerraad voor de zomerstop was een rijksministerraad. Geflankeerd door minister Spies van Binnenlandse Zaken en – in dit verband zeer relevant – Koninkrijksrelaties berichtte premier Mark Rutte dat het een bijzondere rijksministerraad was geworden. Naast de gebruikelijke gevolmachtigde ministers waren namelijk ook de premiers van de landen Curaçao, Aruba en Sint Maarten aanwezig (die overigens ingevolge artikel 10 Statuut slechts een raadgevende stem hebben).
Akshon Sivil wil duidelijkheid MOT-meldingen Schotte

WILLEMSTAD – Stichting Frente Sivil, sinds vorige week omgedoopt tot Akshon Sivil, wil meer weten van de 50 MOT (Meldpunt Ongebruikelijke Transacties)-meldingen van betalingen van 800.000 gulden aan Gerrit Schotte toen hij nog gedeputeerde was. De stichting heeft een brief gestuurd aan procureur-generaal Dick Piar.

Taxichauffeurs slepen luchthavenautoriteit voor rechter

ORANJESTAD - Meer dan de helft van de taxichauffeurs, vertegenwoordigd door vakbond STA, wil geen onderhoudsvergoeding aan de luchthaven betalen. Om ervoor te zorgen dat luchthavenautoriteit AAA deze vergoeding niet kan afdwingen, stapt de vakbond binnenkort naar de rechter voor een kort geding, aldus vakbondleider Diego de Cuba.
